I quit the comic tournament while working on Round 4. The fun had stopped and it was all work and pressure and anxiety. That's not what art should be.
In my second year teaching in Japan. First trimester is ending soon and summer break will be upon us. Right before closing ceremonies, I have a concert I'll be attending in Tokyo. My first show there
I had thought that coming here and getting a change of scenery would make a difference in my motivation to create art but it's still a bit of a chore. It's gotten slightly better. I've taken up drawing pictures for my students, and with a time crunch it's often just me replicating other art with a slight twist, and then using colored pencils. Haven't used those in a long time; they're fun when they're of quality.
Who'd have thought....
